Just so everyone knows, www.mandysbitch.com is officially dead. gatefiction explained what happened to me but it mostly went over my head. Possibly, I was distracted by her blondeness. All I know now, is that it's gone and it's not coming back.

We are trying to retrieve my files, but I think some of it will be lost to the ages. I'm collecting my stuff from various archives about the place (Area 52, Unit B, Glass Onion) and will probably post it all on my LJ at some stage.

Sadly, I can't seem to find a good copy of my Oz story "A Collision on the Road." It's archived at Glass Onion but, as happened at Unit B, I seem to have uploaded it with a chunk missing. I must have uploaded on the same day - made the same mistake twice. Gah.

Anyway, it's a long shot, but I don't suppose anyone here has downloaded a copy of "Collision on the Road" or knows another archive where I might find it? I'm not terribly precious about 90% of my fanfic and I don't care what happens to it, but that one is kind of special to me.

I've been putting this off for a while. I really don't know what to say. I had issues signing up and I kind of fucked up my selections. That is, I asked for "any" in fandoms where I really only wanted particular characters. *Sigh* I have had a SHIT couple of weeks. My hands were signing up but my head wasn't.

So I'm going to tell you what I was hoping for, but you are in no way obliged to write these and I will understand if you don't.

But there is good news on two fronts:

1. If you don't like your matching assignment, you can easily become familiar with one of the other fandoms. There are only 12 episodes in existence for The Middleman and they are worth watching even if you don't end up writing it. There's only 3 Resident Evil films (for now) and I'm hoping for Rain/ Alice so you can probably get away with just watching the 1st one. I found a copy of Wilby Wonderful in Perth, WA, so surely that's easy to find everywhere else (again, 1 film. Easy) and while there's about 1.5 seasons of Sanctuary that's aired, you could probably just watch the 1st season and still be able to write a story about my favourite pairings (mostly, the Five).

2. For Sanctuary and The Middleman, at least, I really don't care what pairing or character you choose. I think they're all awesome. Also, I'd even be interested to see what floats your boat so if you feel like surprising me, go ahead.

I've got recs on the left hand side of my LJ if you're interested in seeing what I like. In general, I am not a fan of fluff or sap. It's not that I dislike happy endings but when they sort of gloss over the problems inherent in the relationship (like, say, writing Magnus and Druitt being all happily ever after) I get a bit annoyed. I like complexity, angst, melancholy, introspection, existentialism, people fucking up and fucking each other over.

I also like experimenting with style, POV, tense etc - if you're in the mood.

Author's Notes: This is the 4th in my satellites series, only unlike the others, I was a bit more creative with the title. Said title is from Shakespeare's "Sonnet 130" and features in Sting's "Moon Over Bourbon Street" which I like despite the Anne Rice connection. Like the others, it stands alone. The setting is somewhere in the midst of season 4's "The Last Man" and the story riffs on those events. My endless gratitude to azurejay who betaed and tolerated my sentence experiments.
